The long awaited new strip was finally unveiled against Tredegar and put a shine on a fine performance. Whitehead RFC started well against Tredegar RFC and after some good handling Tom Ireland crossed for a try which was converted by Matt Doderidge. Tredegar were struggling to keep up with Whitehead and soon Tom Ireland crossed for his second try which was not converted. After a period of pressure Whitehead were awarded a penalty try for persistent infringements. Tredegar came in to the game and replied with 2 penalties.
Half time - Whitehead 19 - Tredegar 6.
The start of the second half saw Tredegar come more into the game putting Whitehead under a lot of pressure but Whitehead defended very well. After a good break-out and good handling Scott Lloyd crossed for a try after good backing up. Whitehead then scored 4 further tries from Matt Doderidge, Lee Cox, Mike Jones and Lewis David 3 of which were converted by Matt Doderidge. Tredegar stuck at it and were rewarded with a consolation try which was not converted.
Final score - Whitehead 50 - Tredegar 11
