Whitehead steel victory

From our roving reporter Dai Hards
"Although this was supposed to be a home fixture for Whitehead, it was played at West Mon ground in deepest Torfaen Borough due to the ground being unavailable at Whitehead. Whitehead started well and had a try disallowed for obstruction. They were under pressure in the scrums but were doing well with the ball in hand. West Mon's discipline was very poor and they infringed a lot which eventually led to them having 3 players in the sin bin at one time. After a good handling move Josh Kenefick scored a try in the corner which was not converted. West Mon had a breakaway that ended with a try under the posts which was converted. Whitehead replied with another try in the corner for Josh Kenefick which was not converted. Right on half time West Mon kicked a long range penalty to level the score at 10 all.
The second half started with Whitehead under pressure before Matt Doderidge broke away beating many players to score under the posts which he also converted. West Mon's discipline was still very poor and eventually 2 players were shown the red card. West Mon then scored two tries one of which was converted to take a 22 - 17 lead with minutes to go. Whitehead fought back and in the last minute an excellent individual try by Craig Lloyd which was converted by Matt Doderidge saw Whitehead win 24 - 22."
