Whitehead gained a precious away win to keep them top of the table in a close game in challenging conditions. Our roving reporter Dai Hards was there to give his usual take on things:-
The game kicked off in a cold blustery wind. Whitehead were playing into the wind and the Llanhilleth outside took advantage of the elements with some very good kicking. Llanhilleth were putting Whitehead under a lot of pressure and were awarded a penalty which was missed. The Llanhilleth pack were putting Whitehead under extreme pressure and were awarded a penalty which was converted. Llanhilleth continued to lay siege to the Whitehead goal line but the Whitehead defense held firm.

The second half kicked off with Whitehead having the advantage of the elements. Whitehead backs were now keeping the ball in hand and attacking Llanhilleth but the home side held firm. The Whitehead pack were now coming in to play with some good driving mauls. From one of these Whitehead were awarded a penalty which was converted by Davey Mulroy. The clock was running down and after some good driving mauls Whitehead were awarded a long range penalty which was converted by Jacob Proctor. Llanhilleth came back at Whitehead and after a period of pressure they were awarded a penalty which was missed. Whitehead held strong as the whistle went for full time.
