Whitehead's played in their new strip for this match but due to a colour clash, had to turn their jerseys inside out! Whitehead's soon gained the better of the forwards battle when Greg Elliot went over the try line from a driving maul. More pressure from a lineout and scrum brought a second try from Carl Morris and a third try, again from a lineout, was bagged by Lee Gresham, all in the first half. Pontllanfraith got back into the game with a converted try and a penalty. To make sure the forwards didn't grab all of the glory, Craig Lloyd sealed the win from the bench with a trademark run from the half way line.
