The game started in atrocious conditions. West Mon took the lead early with a penalty for offside. Whitehead replied 5 minutes later with a penalty kicked by Llyr Davies. Both sides were playing well considering the poor weather. Whitehead were awarded a penalty which was converted by Llyr Davies. Whitehead started to control the game through the forwards and following a driving line-out Michael Bush scored a try that was not converted. This was quickly followed up by a try scored by Gareth Edwards after some good play by the forwards. The try was not converted. Heading towards half time Whitehead scored another try for Dai Evans after some very good play by the pack which was converted by Llyr Davies.

Conditions worsened as the second half started but both sides were trying to play some open rugby. Whitehead were awarded a penalty which was converted by Llyr Davies. The Whitehead pack were now controlling the play and after a long period of pressure on the West Mon line Bailey Davies scored a try which was not converted.
