The game started with Whitehead playing with the wind behind them. They were soon awarded a penalty which was converted by Davey Mulroy. This was followed by another which was again converted by Davey Mulroy. New Tredegar replied with a try which was not converted. Whitehead replied with a try scored by Owen Pearson which was not converted. This was quickly followed with a try scored by Zac Westacott which was again not converted. This was followed by a try by New Tredegar which was not converted

The second half started with Whitehead making a mess of the kick off and putting themselves under pressure. The New Tredegar pack were putting Whitehead under constant pressure and eventually were rewarded with a try which was converted.
