In a game that saw Whitehead return to the top of the league, level on points with New Panteg with a game in hand, our roving reporter, Dai Hards, files his match report.:- The game kicked off in very blustery conditions. Whitehead quickly put New Panteg under pressure and were awarded a penalty which was converted by Matt Doderidge. New Panteg replied quickly with two long range penalties. After a period of pressure by Whitehead Matt Doderidge kicked a penalty. New Panteg replied with a well taken try which was not converted. Right on half time Matt Doderidge kicked a penalty.
The second half started well for Whitehead and they were rewarded with a try by Josh Channing after a neat kick through by Davey Mulroy. It was converted by Matt Doderidge. New Panteg were rewarded with a penalty. Whitehead were now putting New Panteg under a lot of pressure and after a driving maul from a lineout Dai Evans crashed over for an unconverted try.This was followed by a very good handling movement which resulted in an unconverted try for Dan Rees. New Panteg then put Whitehead under a lot of pressure and eventually scored a converted try.
